Maybe a dumb question but can anyone tell me if you replace your fuel tank with a longer range one would all the functions such as fuel consumption, range etc. still be accurate on your trip computer ? I know that there are people doing supply and fit packages but does that include this type of calibration ?

Davro Hi, Normally the original tank is not replaced but an auxilary tank fitted. I have a Pajero with a Long Ranger tank fitted, As the fuel is depleted in the main tank the transfer pump adds to the main tank (operated manually by a switch on the dashboard). So the fuel consumption functions etc are not affected, as the main tank fuel increases the "Range" calculation increases accordingly.
This is the third similar setup that I have had & 3 out of 3 gauges on the auxilaries are all but useless & no big deal.
Maybe You could look at the Pajero 4WD Club of Victoria they have a sub section for Challenger/Paj Sport.
thanks everyone, Explorer I have been on that site and apparently Brown & Davis are the only ones currently making a 112ltr full replacement tank for the 5 seater Sports (not sure about the 7 seater) . The feedback is that it will give incorrect readings in some areas eg. kms to MT due to the computer thinking that it still has a 68ltr tank. I will ask Mitsubishi if there is any way you can fiddle with the settings probably tell me I'll void the warranty for not fitting genuine parts or something. Worst case scenario is that I have to carry a 30ltr jerry with me.
To empty only applies once your down to same capacity as std tank . It doesn't take much to work out were that come about by filling tak from M/T to capacity of std tank . On mine it just reads full and the same till gauge starts moving . But it depends on gauge etc . I don't find it a problem . It works when your half tank which is about were you start to consider anyway ..
