Our first adventure...

We have recently finished doing up a bus.... looking forward to taking it for a 'trial' run. somewhere about an hour or two from Brisbane. If anyone could suggest somewhere for the first trip...that would be great! Looking to leave from about the 27th of this month for about 4-5 days. The bus is pretty much got everything that we need so power and ablutions are not a must. Looking forward to hearing from someone and maybe meeting people on our journey around Australia in the not too distant future.

Welcome to the gang Paddy and Meryl, enjoy here and out in the playground.

Nice looking bus, I'm sure you will be very happy in that. I don't like to recommend places as my idea of a good place might not be yours so will back out of that one.

Keep safe on the roads and out there.

Hello Paddy and Meryl Marias

As Dougwe has already said, welcome to the forum

I also have to agree with Dougwe when he says that, because we are all different, one persons idea of a good place, may not suit someone else, or words to that effect

If no one else comes forward (in the next few days), with some good places, within a few hours of Brisbane
Perhaps look at WikiCamps (one off fee of about less than $8)
It shows all the camps, paid, low cost, and free ones
This will at least give you an idea of what is available out in the playground

There is also a good book called Camps Australia Wide (up to version 8), which is the same as WikiCamps, but without the comments

Hope this info is useful to you, and I hope that you have an enjoyable shakedown cruise, starting on the 27th

ps
I have never been in The Brisbane area with a caravan/campervan

And it's welcome from us two 2 Pady and Meryl

Another vote for WikiCamps you will find pictures and comments on all campsites just remember that some comments are rather negative and should be disregarded

Gday Paddy & Meryl welcome to the forum and like others I like the look of your bus, with regard to reccomending locations for a short trip there are two areas on the forum where members hav listed locations that they like and that are cheap.

I dont think you can go past wiki camps as it provides current details and pictures as well as comments by people who have stayed there.
