Planar diesel heater installation

Hi All, my wife and I have just signed up to forum! Looks like there is some great topics off discussion. We are going to Darwin next year for 3 months with 2 kids and would like to have some heating at night as we plan on doing some free camps! Does anyone know if there is someone who will fit our planar diesel heater in the Geelong/ bellarine peninsula area ?

Welcome to the gang Wiffo, enjoy here and out in the playground.

I have a gas heater so will leave it to those that have a diesel to help you out.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Hello Wiffo

As Dougwe has already said, welcome to the forum

As I do not use a heater, then I can not add to what Dougwe has already said

Hopefully members who have had dealings with Installers/Repairers in the Geelong area will come forward, with their recommendations

Hi dragon fly . Yeah mate I have called pinnacle and they were quite helpful! i am not that mechanically minded! I am looking at the 2k planar for the expanda. Has yours been reliable and will it heat an expanda? Do you know anyone that would fit it down my way? Cheers

Our motorhome is 8 meters I have a outlet between the beds and one in the bathroom and it heats all the motorhome which is very well insulated with the bathroom door open if the expander has beds both ends I would fit the bigger one with two outlets as you can always run it on low if it was getting too hot

Don't have a heater yet but will be going the diesel heater way in due course , so I'm no help either .
Thought some one would have mentioned that you won t need one in Darwin but you might on the way up.

Hi Wiffo and welcome.

I recently bought a Planar heater from Pinnacle and fitted it myself.
Absolutely the best thing I have fitted on the van. We went away free camping for four days and it made our adventure very comfortable.
I cant help you with an installer in Geelong but any tradesman worth his salt should be able to install it for you.

The instructions that come with the heater are difficult to understand as they are written in Chinelish but all I did was google the information on youtube and some other sites and the Pinnacle web site has got some easy to understand operating instructions.

I purcheased the kit with the vent tubes and outlet vents and including a metal fuel tank... It cost me $945.00 and with a few screws clamps and cable clamps etc that I bought separately it still cost me under $1000.00

A very happy camper.....good luck with it.

Thanks to everyone for their replies on this matter! I will keep asking around for someone to install the planar. If not I will have a go myself! Cheersđđ»
