Anyone else going to this event?. We are going up Friday morning for the weekend then up to Cliff Head or somewhere on the beach for a spot of fishing for a couple of day. We dont religously watch every act cos we tend to socialise a fair bit!! So if anyone else is going please give me a pm and we can catch up.
Well we are at Nambung and Tony pulled in 15 mins after us...had to have wet the bed and got a super early start to come from Bunbury.
Have lots of photos but there is no phone reception (so much for you beaut blue tick use any where phone!!) and they are all on my phone. Got internet with an external aerial. Lots of people here, easily a 150 vans so far and it doesn't start till 4 pm. Should be a good weekend.
Watched a caravan pull in a while ago.. now these are drive thru sites. How hard is it to do?? simply drive in and switch off would be the norm but no, she gets out with her two way and stands IN FRONT OF CAR directing him forwards, via the 2 way, and he had to back up and do it again as he was on a slight angle to where she was standing.. we are in the middle of a 1000 acre paddock and of course space is at a premium!!
And the genny brigade are alive and well!! Thank goodness there is a 9pm curfew!!
You were all very good company at the Nambung Country Music Festival, so thank you all very much for that
If you can let Len know that I sampled the fish and chips at Cervantes, on the way home. He was a bit doubtful, when I mentioned that I had read a bit of a recommendation, that they were OK. I liked them, but as they say simple minds (such as myself) are easily pleased.
Got back to Bunbury about 9.30 pm this evening, so all is well in this part of the world

200 vans and 550 people passed thru the gates and most were campers..
$10,000 was raised for the various charities and we didn't win any of the raffles either.
A lot left at the end of the day but there would have been 75 vans still there over night . We left about 8 this morning and there had been a steady stream of vans departing from about 6am
On again next year around the same time.
It was a great weekend.

This year it was cold, and overcast until Sunday afternoon, so it was only the true believers, who went
And perhaps those who had pre paid
It was twice as big as last year

Two lots of shade, one shade clothe, and one canvas

30 walk up artist, last year there were only 10

I estimate that there were around 1,000 people there
The Poets breakfast was booked out by Friday
$75 per person for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and I assume most went home on Monday
Thursday and Friday entertainment, was from about 4 pm to 10 pm
Saturday 9 am to 11 pm
Sunday 7 am to about 4.30 pm
If you are a man with a sense of humour, I can recommend an artist by the name of Laura Downing She is a singer, with some jokes thrown in for good measure The compare mentioned that she is looking for a rich man, age unimportant She would have a good time, spending his money
She received a standing ovation, with her last song, "The Man from Snowy River" She was very good
If you are a man without a sense of humour, then she is probably not for you She explained why both her marriages failed, she was seeing this bloke, and her husband did not like it
She explained why God is not a man, but actually a woman God made everything in seven days A man would start on Monday, then stay on the toilet until Tuesday
I estimate that 99% of the people there, were around retirement age, and all campers There were no problems to my knowledge Glasses, gold bangles, and ear rings, were found and handed in 90% of the people left their chairs near the stage, from Thursday to Sunday
The wife went with me this time, and said that we will be going again next year
It certainly was a great event, despite the cold & wind I went up on Thursday & left Monday morning. Thought there would be some forum members around somewhere in the crowd. No hope of finding anyone phone and internet very hit and miss as well.

Went a day early, to find out that those sneaky mature people, also went a day early
Price was $75 per person, for the Thursday to Sunday, entertainment, plus $10 per person, for the extra day, (Wednesday)
A few changes from last year were:- All chairs to be removed each night, to give everyone a chance of getting to the front There was more shade this year Water (rainwater) to top up a caravan, was a $2 donation Bigger and better dump point, no idea about the capacity, they had three 100mm pipes coming out the ground, as well as the original dump point They no longer had the secret mens business trough, it was now called mens loos, and it was a loo with a view, as the hay bale wall which held the trough, was about four foot high Parking was north/south, and not east/west, so my spare portable solar panel, was not required Approximately 1,200 people went along Approximately $17,000 was given to charity, the main charity being Make a Wish Foundation
Once again there was no problems, (to my knowledge), as over 95% were mature age people
Days were warm, but the nights were cold
When the compare asked if we were all coming back next year, my wife shouted out, "YES"
All things being equal, we shall be going again next year
