I clicked new topics for this post but it sure is not a new topic, Iv'e read no end of woe stories on this subject but I'm just hoping that someone might have an idea on this. My wife and I live in a Jayco Stirling 25 foot van which we bought new 5 years ago, within 4 years we had cracks in the shower wall in the corners. After some negotiation Jayco had one of their agencies replace the entire shower unit under warranty. The replacement job was major requiring the back wall of the caravan to be removed therefore we had to find alternative accommodation for 4 days.
All was ok till we drove the van away from the repairers on a Friday night of a long weekend to find the repairers had drilled through the wiring leaving us with no lights or van brakes, also on the first wind after the repair the awning track ripped off the van because the threads were stripped in the awning track which they had to remove to get the new shower installed. So as you can appreciate we don't want to go through all that again. The sad thing is the repairers put what seams to be a 300 mm square piece of wood or some other material under the shower floor which I don't think was there before, consequenty the floor has cracked along the edge of the wood underneath after just 12 months since the repair job. Not happy Jan.
I have emailed the repairer about this and am waiting for their response but Im thinking 1. I cant see Jayco replacing the shower again as it seems its the repairers fault. 2. Even if they do I don't want all that hassel again. Ive read about various repair jobs on this forum and I've checked out Bunnings for all things wet and showery but not come up with anything yet. The issue is, as long as the piece of wood stays under the shower any repair wont last because the floor is uneven. I thought of cutting the floor out completly, removing the wood and somehow making a new base out of thin air probably. I will of course persue the repairer to make good on this but a year after the repair I don't expect much help so I'm preparing my mind to fix it my self.
We have a 2013 Starcraft and experienced the same cracked shower issues. Long story short, I eneded up fibreglassing the complete floor. It works well.
As for the botch of a repair, I would contact Jayco and winge like crazy. Obviously the repairer has taken short cuts and caused the issues. The last card in the pack would be an insurance claim if they all try to dodge out. We are with CIL and they give us accommodation because we live in the van 24/7.
I would look at a complaint to the ombudsman and ACCC if the repairer or Jayco give you the run around.
Good luck
Will give you some fibreglassing advice if you choose that way.

I think you are correct that it is an issue you need to follow up, as you have, with the repairer.
You could perhaps also ask Jayco to contact them as well as they suggested them to you, and are obviously a Jayco preferred repairer.
If you don't get satisfaction then, start to contact other agencies for their assistance to follow up.
Migra, I don't see the sites you suggest, except perhaps #3, are appropriate. Jayco are seeking to assist Andrew, and have obviously supported him during the process, and the other sites you mentioned are, I believe directed more at the manufacturer rather than the repairer.

Chaos, mayhem, confusion. Good my job here is done
Thanks Gents and Ladies. I got a reply from the repairer who is waiting for the manager to come back on Monday to address the issue so I'll see what happens. I must admit I had not thought of going down the insurance road that could be an option.
Fiberglassing the entire floor has been a thought of mine too but with the wood still underneath it im not sure it wont still crack along the edge of the wood again.

Ill keep you informed. PS Thanks for the welcome

I can not understand why those blocks are under the floor. We have the same set up. My biggest concern when I did the fibreglass was softening the plastic in the floor, but it worked out well. Now we have a floor you could shower an elephant on. I put 3 layers of heavy duty glass on and 2 coats of flow coat as the raw fibleglass is not waterproof. BTW dont put space invader (the gap filler) under the floor. It doesnt keep its shape after a while and makes an unholy mess Im told.
I guess Jayco went the cheap way using quick fix and build ABS cubicles. BTW the exothermic and chemical (acetone) reaction was not a problem in glassing our floor, the stink, on the other hand was really yuk.
Take care and good luck, our CIL put us up in a caravan park cabin for a week after I ran the van into a tree some time back. However try Jayco and the repairer first. Mind you they will only repair to the new standard, so you may get the same issue over and over. Thats the reason I bit the bullet and glassed the bloody lot.
Cheers

Lose some weight !! Don't shower together .. LOL.. Na I'd say there's bugger all support under fibreglass ??
Flexing and cracking ... Extra support can go along way..
