Not really, many of us like to read Doug's updates the same as we used to read the journeys of many others who have now been hunted away.
This site to many is our campfire and the only time we get to find out what our friends are doing.
Doug is a very nice guy and has MANY friends on this forum so many like to follow his travels.
We have lost lots of good members who gave valuable advise and they have now left the forum and it is poorer for it.
The old saying mate, if you don't want to read it don't open it, just pass on by

I agree Bieffe - I miss the postings of some of our lost members - still enjoy the forum, but it's just not the same.

Why would Chicken Strangler say that?

Thanks Brian and Jules, I choose to ignore comments like that most of the time. I think the 2% club might need to change to 3% perhaps biggrin

Bugga, I haven't ignored the comment, have I crydisbeliefblankstare

Keep safe on the roads and out there.

You have it completely wrong Chicken Strangler. I have been fortunate to meet with Doug for lunch a few times when he has been up in GODS country and he is not an attention seeker. There are a number of members on this forum that like to welcome new members and help them to feel they can ask for assistance without being intimidated. It is a daunting task setting up and traveling for the first time and the older members can provide just about any information required to set the wheels in motion. They are not attention seekers just nice people. biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

The only time that Doug wants to be the centre of attention is when the twins are in town.

I like to read member's updates and blogs and see their photos. There are many places I have not been and these updates give me information for future travels. Thanks to all who share their travel tales and experiences. Much appreciated.

Dougwe is the total opposite of an attention seeker. You've obviously never met him, have you chicken strangler.
He likes to tell good stories but only on here. Everyone if them worth reading and I'll tell you that for free.

I reckon Chicken strangler's comment completely changes context depending on how you read it and what you read into it - imagine Chicken strangler saying it with raised eyebrows and an evil glint in his eye.....kind of having a go at someone...bit of a light hearted stir...whatever.

I thought Australians were pretty good at this, but maybe we are all taking Political Correctness too far.

Anyway, FWIW I reckon Doug's updates are great and the stranglers comments just a good-hearted stir

Good Luck.
