LC 200 battery location

If i was to upsize the two batteries under the LC 200 bonnet, which side is better for the auxillary, i dont imagine theres a choice.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the starter cables?

 Cheers. Kezngaz.

Hi Kezngaz.

I have a 200 Series V8, twin turbo Diesel and I believe the Left hand side, you have to more the fuel filter.

Had a quote from ARB for $1800.00. (funny) I still only have the originals.

Regards.

Hi Kezngaz,

I to have a 200 TTD. when the time comes ( not to soon) I will put two 720cca Centuary Batteries in each tray as there is plenty of room.

Why they supply 550cca. Cheap scapes.

Why don't you put a 720 in and a deep cycle, with a splitter for running your fridge in the back and any other accessories. Would be the way to go I think. 770 c/a would be plenty to start your engine if you don't live in the Antarctic.

Hi there. This is my train of thought this is why i was trying to obtain a wiring diagram so as i know which dide can become home to the auxillary battery.

770 cca would be plenty i agree.

 Cheers Kezngaz.

Your batteries are connected in parallel. Remove either battery and connect the neg terminal to the chassis. If your vehicle has a variable voltage alternator then use the battery closest to the existing neg to chassis as that lead also sends signals to ECU to control the output voltage.

The battery on the passenger side is connected to the starter motor. The driver side battery is the one you would usually isolate and use for running fridges etc.

The new 2016 landcruser now only has one battery. So as long as you upgrade the size of the starter battery it will be ok as this is what Toyota now does

Actually the new 200 Series still has 2 batteries. How do I know? We have a new one, August this year. We put a Thumper in the back and use that as our auxiliary battery, all wired in correctly.

Got to agree with the above..

I was strongly advised by Toyota and by TJM to leave the original batteries as they are and fit the aux battery in the back.

i have done it this way with good results.
