cheap solar

hi

200w and 160w  around 200$

http://www.findsports.com.au/c/camping-gear/lighting/solar-panel/1369

The sizes for the 200watter are not listed  deserves a ph call or email to confirm .

There 160watter is a little under size also

https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/products/solar-power.html  160watter   around 200$

This seems more authentic than the other 2 panels

just have to find some room !!

Hi swamp,

I am not sure about that supplier. What sort of pre delivery sale are they running ???

My comments on some of their KEY FEATURES.cry

Key Featured

  • Folding Solar Panel!    Any two panels can have hinges fitted to do this.
  • Only 1.2kg!    Only 1.2 KG ??       I would like to see that ! What are they made of
  • Saronic solar sellers excel amongst all folding solar panels presented!     Sartronic BS by the sound of it.
  • Light-weighted, and easily set up! Unbreakable surface protection!    Unbreakable surface protection ??
  • Absorbs maximum sunlight with latest monocrystalline cell technology.  Monocrystalline cells ? what will they think of next ?
  • Remarkable 25-year output warranty.   Remarkable warranty! the same as everyone else has !

It looks like a dodgey deal to me and I have bought a few panels from the internet for a good price. Stick to a seller who knows what they are selling and have a fixed good price and include freight too. biggrin

My son has bought a few things from this mob. it seems they pre-sell a container load and then bring it in and distribute to the buyers. This is much the same method Kogan used in the early days of their business. Now they are a huge online retailer.

Gooday,

Just be careful and make sure you are getting what you need and are paying for, there needs to be a certain number of solar cells per panel to be sure they are the given output (wattage), cannot remember the exact number but needs to be correct or you have wasted your money. My advice was  not to use larger than 140 watt panels if mounting them to avoid flexing due to size.

Hope this helps, solar is fabulous if properly installed.

I'll second Bit Deals.
I bought 80w folding panels about 7 years ago, and they're still going strong on the shed roof.
If I remember rightly, the bag fell apart the first time I put them back in it! Got a good Halls Canvas bag for my new ones now...

Don't get a package. The controllers are only rubbish when you purchase a package. You are better off purchasing a quality controller and mounting it near your battery (where it should be.) As stated above, any pair of panels can be hinged together to make them portable. Make your own kit up. It will cost you more but you will be getting something that works better.
