Low Cost C amp Echuca

We are staying at  the Rotary Park in down town Echuca vic.

Park is located in the suburb of the town only a couple of Kms from the CBD and the Info Centre.

When checking at info Centre don't for ger to ask about the Rotary park Camp site.

Heaps of room but must  be fully self contained. No Toilet here but a bonus there ios a dump point and water.

Honest Box for the $5 per night for your van space.

That is good value considering that you are the heart of the town and no problems leaving your van for the day. ( Security wise that is )

The Rich River Golf club at Moama over the river is good value.  Join the club as a social member for $12 a year and stay for free while you are a member. Self contained Rv`s, dump point and water on site.

WOW - a dump point in Echuca - about time! Just imagine how many tonne/litres of raw sewage being dumped into the river, or the nearby bush, by a town that boasted it was a "great tourist town" - and did not have a free public dump point for travellers. (Which is why Rich River put one in, and allow camping in part of their carpark - join the club for some minimal amount, stay, then stay and play with discounts with your membership - everyone wins!

 Phil,

Wished I had know, as I am a keen golfer and play at least 2 to 3 times a week when home in Qld. I did have a game there some 6 weeks ago. Great course and a Club House to die for.

Well maybe not die, but top shelf stuff.

We stopped there in 2017 and they were installing some toilets near the Dump Point.

This mob have dump point signs around town, so one would assume that you can come off your camp at the river and do the right thing.
10 years of travel in this country with lots and lots of klms under our belt. This is the only dump point we have come across with a padlock.
Yes we have the facility but it"s ours, come to the reception and sign up for a year and we will lend you a key, (return soon as you are done )
Somewhat annoyed ( being polite ) we drove to the only other signposted dump point in Echuca /Moama. Rotary Park in Echuca.
Sorry I can't let you in said the man on the gate, we have a food festival going on, you will have to pay to come in, or leave without using the dump facility.
Needless to say this town leaves a sour taste in our mouths when it comes to looking after its touring guests. Totally and utterly Pee d off.
Guess what fellow travellers, We live in this town and camp by the river with our family,s from Melbourne several times per annum.
and it gets better.....We are both members of the rich River Golf Club.
Sorry for the negativity but i felt this had to be exposed.
Yours
Dave & Jenny
