I have a battery powered lawnmower which until now has been faultless and usually gets through the mowing duties of the whole yard no problem.
Its a 24 volt 10ah sealed lead acid. I always touch it up by charging for about an hour before each use and let it cool after use and store fully charged. The battery and mower are about 4 years old.
Today it ran out of power about 3/4 way through. I checked voltage at 21.7v on stopping.
It is also a warmish day here - 33 deg and grass was slightly higher than usual - but not much... I intend to let it cool and recharge for couple hours before trying again.
Has any one had any experience with battery powered mowers and if so how long did you get from the original battery?
I suspect its about time to buy a new one - battery that is.
Yes - I know, should be dunmowing, but SWMBO still wants the base........

It is just a battery. What you have not told us is what type of battery it is and the features of the charger.
At 4 years old, it may simply be nearing the end of its life, depending on how well the charger has been looking after it. Many chargers which come with appliances are very basic.
When you replace the battery, you might also consider getting a better charger for it to get a better life.
At 23.5V after charging, that battery is "naughty word" I'm afraid...
