Ibis3 vs Belair 3400 Air Con

We are about to take delivery of out first ever van and have now been told the Ibis 3 Air Con is out of stock and our supplier wants to use a Houghton Belair 3400. I have done some research and the specs seem similar, the key one being I think the power at 3200w for the Belair and 3100w for the Ibis. The big difference in favour of the Ibis appears to be the max air flow at 180 lts per second vs 150 for the Belair. I am told by friends that being able to get servicing is the key and the Belair does seems to have plenty of service outlets. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Thank-you.

To be honest, can't say I have ever heard of that "Houghton Belair 3400".

I have an Ibis 3 and chose it for one reason - it is soooo quiet (for a rooftop aircon).

Ask around and get a Inverter Split system fitted if you have headroom.

They 100% more efficient than any 20 yr old technology van Aircond.
AND much quieter. fuel efficient.
AND... AND, A lot cheaper.

I've yet to hear a quiet Van Air cond. Anywhere.

The Ibis works well for us, the Belair might be just as good but do you want to take the chance ? I guess if it's going to hold things up if you have to wait ,your between a rock and a hard place. How long before Ibis comes back on line, why not contact the factory...

Thanks for the thoughts.  Will call the factory on Monday but am leaning toward requesting the IBIS depending on how long the delay. Appreciate the help.

Hi Champagne - if looking at comments online, make sure they are relevant to IBIS 3. The previous models of IBIS are very different units...
