Hello, my husband and I are new to Motorhoming and have a 2015 Avida Birdsville on a Fiat Ducato. 

We have decided we need to tow a car. We are in the research phase at present. 

We have some good information from a fellow traveller regarding a Ready Brute Elite with the Ready Brake available at Loganholme near Brisbane. We live near Bundaberg. 

We own a 2009 Honda Civic manual we would like to tow. From my reading it seems that most people choose a Suzuki.

We would appreciate any advice regarding both the a frame mechanism and our choice of tow vehicle.

Hi there

we tow a Suzuki swift behind our fiat motorhome with a hitch and go a frame and haven't had any problems in 8 years your Honda Civic should be OK as it is a manual transmission you can not tow a auto you will have to find out if you can get the fittings to suit your honda

It is possible to flat tow an auto if it is fitted with free wheel hubs, for instance.....

We tow a 92 Suzuki Vitara Auto behind a Mercedes motorhome, using a Hitchngo. The main reason people go for suzukis, is the 4wd gear box on the early models has a transfer case allowing neutral to be selected. We are happy with the setup, however if we were doing the exercise again would opt for a ready brute or blue ox for ease of conection and storage.

I have an A class MH which weighs in at 8.4 tonnes.

I have always had an aversion to Towballs so purchased a McHitch  tow system and mounted it on a Hitch-N-Go A frame. Easy job just four bolts to take off the override tow ball connection and mount the McHitch unit.

Only thing I didn't like was having to line up the A frame to connect. I am in the process of getting the McHitch converted to their U Beaut Auto system It will be a conversion job at $250 compared to the standard $350 for the new Auto system. From their website it looks like the answer to my lining up issues with the old Pin system

 

Towed a Suzuki Grand Vitara for six years with no troubles. I have also looked at the Diahatsu Terios which will also be able to use a Hitch-N-Go A frame or one of the two door Vitara's also towable.  The Ducato should be OK to flat tow. You see enough of them Towing mainly Suzukis but everything from Getz's to Barinas.
