A couple of weeks ago after returning from a trip I posted my concern about the van swaying on the return journey without any crosswind, the difference between the outward and the return trips had been that I had reduced the tyre pressure in the rear tyres on the way home. I have just returned from a trip to Mudgee via the Hunter Expressway, The Golden Highway and The Ulan Road with a 20/30kph cross wind on the return leg. Taking into account the advice that everyone gave in the previous post I adjusted tyre pressures, the rear air bag pressure, WDH setting and re balanced the loading of both the vehicle and the van. The result was that I experienced a perfect trip no swaying and only normal bouncing in a couple of the rougher sections. Final settings were front tyres 32PSI, rear 40PSI, WdH set to level the vehicle, rear air bags lightly inflated to 15PSI, van tyres 55PSI. The van and the tug were both around 2600kg loaded with a ball weight of 250kg, very comfortable cruising at between 90kph and 100kph even got up to 110kph on the expressway. Thanks everyone for your previous advice as it made driving on this trip so much more enjoyable and no doubt a lot safer.
