Inverter generators

Fuji Micro inverter generator, engine runs to full throttle, no output. The importers Mills Int don't provide any schematics or repair service, but don't despair, here's the fix.

The inverter board controls many things as well as producing 240v, it controls the throttle servo motor, 12vDC for battery charging etc. It is also potted (encapsulated) and therefore cannot be repaired.

Remove covers to access inverter board, unplug 6 pin connector, remove spark plug, connect multimeter between two black wires (100v AC or more setting), pull engine over briskly with recoil starter and.....

1) if you get around 60 volts AC then alternator winding is ok. Replace inverter board

2) if you get no AC volts, the alternator stator winding is no good and inverter board may be ok, replace stator winding.

Changing inverter is not hard, just mark all the plugs & sockets before disassembly.

Plenty of spares available, stator around $30, Inverter board $170.

Great info for the tool minded,
Unfortunately, a lot on here are ex office worker types.
Only tool they ever used was phone and coffee maker.
Chuckle.

For the uneducated.

I have a 3.8kva Chinese Inverter with Genuine HONDA motor
Engine no filed off for legalities at Honda factory
They not supposed to Export to certain country's.
But that'd never stop a jap. Read up on it,
cost. around $470 del yrs ago. Done 2 Cyclones and multiple vanning trips,
running mine and mates vans together.

Anything kalks.
I'll just send to god and get another one.

I stopped buying overpriced Jap stuff when selected Chinese does same job,
with same reliability and output.
For a fraction of the price.

I could buy 4 of these and still have change. against one Honda.

PS.
Just an Alternative for some.

We bought a Fuji 4.4 kva inverter generator from that mob 6 years ago and it ran ok for a couple of months and then the 12 volt side of it would not work so they sent a truck to my house and took it back to get repaired but could not fix it and then delivered a brand new one to my door and that one has been perfect for over five and a half years now.

we bought it at their ebay auction for $510 so very happy with their generator and their service yet on the internet everyone seems to run them down

Have you got a brand name to share with potential purchasers like me ...  Just for my solo redclaw fishing trip camps.  Though I'd prefer a 2kva if only for weight/size reasons.  Is it pure sign wave output?

It's red Cupie.

'ang on. I'll nip downstairs and have a shufty.

Vector Power.

Only certain models had the Import Honda.
Others had the Chinese Honda copy.
Some just a straight Chinee design?.

It took a lot of reading up back then to sort them all out.
There were 4 mfg's had access to the imports.

the 3.8kva is one I got. and not all of them had it.
According to stocks basically.
You have to chase them up and sift out the one you want.

Have fun. It is worth it.

 Hi dragonfly1

Was looking at the 3.7 max =3.2 kva https://www.google.com.au/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=fuji+3.7+generator&tbm=shop&spd=17123191229867862038

Just wondering what made you go the next size up...???

3.7 would start my Ibis A/C from what I understand, prolly all I would use it for

58 db at 7 meters, or does more kva mean less grunting from the donk and less noise when under load...???

vik... love thy neighbour...
