Hot water unit removal

Hi, further to my earlier posting, my hot water unit is leaking. To remove, take bed out, cut and remove bottom of bedside cupboard! When asked why don't they have a panel on the outside, answer, the new ones do now, and if you want we can do that after we remove the unit to reinstall the new one as you can't see what pipes and electrical cables are in the wall with the old unit in place. What a load of rubbish, even with the unit out you still can't see what's in the wall.

My question is has anyone cut a hole in the side of their van to replace a hot water service, if so what problems did you encounter? Is there a generic outside cover that can be fixed back over the hole?

Its a concept van 2011 model with the hot water unit up the front r/hand side.

Sorry I can't help with your Van but there is a company called BLA who have a huge catalogue of stuff for the Marine/RV/Recreation world. I would Google them. It's where I got my cover for my water heater in my Motor Home when I replaced it.

They also supply people like BCF amongst many other stores.

Len, where are you situated? Can you ask a caravan repair person/company?
I do know that companies like Jayco do not divulge where anything is - not certain about Concept.

Thanks for the replys, have talked to caravan repair place x 2, they are the ones who both told me how it had to be done. Have sent email to BLA, will phone them tomorrow ( work day)

i have seen panels on newer vans that are vented as well, having trouble finding a supplier only without them wanting to do the labour as well.
