Wot dud rocky do now ?

Gday...

Somewhat grounded in Victoria for a while yet. hmm

Quite probably the only thing that cannot be completed planned is the impact of 'family' on the full-time traveller ... when they need ya - ya gotta come.

Anyway, I was able to get a bit of time away this month for a bit of "eucalyptus therapy". I need that on a regular basis.

So, attached is a bit of a warble about my last little wander.

Cheers - John

As you say, John
It is very picturesque

I have been through Genoa, but never went to Mallacoota

Just goes to show what can be easily missed, in this very large country of ours

A good read "Rocklizard". Truly a beautiful part of the world. We just returned from 2 weeks at Lake Tyers & Omeo - Gippsland has the lot. Spent 2 nights behind pub at Ensay North and 5 nights behind pub at Omeo - nobody asked for money but we were very pleased to donate to local charities.

Great write up and photos John. Love your history lessons too. So many "gem" places out there.

Very well done again Rocky, I think that the reason you could not find the nest was because as far as I could make out all of those chooks are roosters, the farm owner probably didn't have the heart to cull them a common problem with hobby farmers.

As usual a great read Rocky. They grow lizards that big here in the tropics too mate. As for those chooks hanging around your choofa, maybe they were waiting for some RFC. Mmmmm, or were you confuse

That is a great part of the playground indeed mate, I too have spent some time in that area. Now as for that 'extra' night, you "freeloader" you biggrin

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Is a great area. If you have never been to Thurra River and/or Wingan Inlet, in the National Park, consider a visit. National park camp areas. Great "bush".

Gday...

Yep for sure Wendyv ... but those places are not 'caravan friendly'.

I have been to Thurra and Wingan Inlet and a couple of years ago I spent a month 4x4ing from Cann River down to Thurra, across the tracks to Wingan and then most of the tracks eastward to Mallacoota. I was a 'tent person ' then.

It is great country.

However, none of that country is 'caravan friendly' - unless a 'small' van/camper. Motorhomes and campervans would be OK.

OH and don't bother going there during January - ya gotta book - it used to be six months in advance. The camps are chocka at peak times.

cheers - John

Great story Rocky. This is an area that we have not fully explored, so you have now whetted my appetite. Thanks for the read
