Hi there. My trailamate has stopped lifting. Has anyone out there fitted the replacement seals you buy in a kit. ?? If so is it relatively easy to do. And do you have any tips.??? Cheers. Daz
A cd comes with the new seal kit explaining the dismantling and then the reassembling and fitting of the seals. I took the lap top to the work shop and played the DVD pausing it after each step and sometime replaying that section to make certain I was clear on what to do.
Any handyman should be able to do it.

Hi Barry,
We are also members of ACC, (SA0250). Will you please let us all know where we can get these kits? Mine is over 4 years old and will need an overhaul soon I expect.
Thanks

Hi PhilC,
From memory I got one kit from Caravan Plus. Approx $52 plus postage. I notice when last at a caravan service centre who had a Camec shop he stocked them. Google Trail a Mate seal kit or just Trail a Mate you will find something I'm sure.

Just a quick tip.
After receiving your excessively expensive seal kit for the Trailer Mate jack.
Take it down to a shop that sells O rings, such as Belts and Bearings or any hydraulic shop and purchase 5 of each O rings.
This will cost you about $10. Match them with the originals and identify them on clip lock bags for future repairs.

Good tip peewee
myself.....my 'man' (caravan repairer in WA) did mine - but at $70 just for the o rings....and whatever his labour was I would question doing it again. That's at least a third of just getting a new one at least.
Probably a little OT - but I had another instance of a random bloke come try check my oil the other day....(I get a lot of random blokes trying to do random repairs or advice etc), luckily it was full.......but....mental note to self grubby 'check hex bolt tightness when he leaves) - did so and as suspected he hadn't done it up tight enough.
Ill just go on until it fails next time.
(If my van is unhooked it ALWAYS has another jack under it anyways)
Use steel plate or wheel assy from Trailermate and never used (me) Or make up a base plate and yoke on drawbar somewhere to mount top of piston. Then either Air Comp or the old piston lever pump. and away.
24in or 48in basically. I've ordered 24in one. See what it's like hey. $50 del. Even if Chinese. It's worth a try.
Whoops sorry Forgot. US dollars. and I'm getting sent to son.
He'll ship over for me in Company bundle every 3 months.
Contact and check yourselves?.
Hey two good games this we-end.
Storm and those idiot Sharks Yesterday. Great final figures. Couldn't happen to a better team chuckle. Most of them ain't got much t'ween ears. Even for Rugby players. Neanderthals, mostly.
First half they were waaaay outplayed as Rugby players. so went back to their usual "Play the player. NOT the ball"
And Niggle. Niggle. Niggle. For second half.
I said 30-Zilch. preferably.
ALMOST got there.
and tonight. Bronc's. Rabbits. Another bloody good, active game. with best results. Got 6 over the line. lost 2 on Technicalities. But got them over line.
Best game there is. With clean. hard playing teams.

When I tried to replace the bottom seal - the bolt appears to have stripped thread - it won't come out - turns freely ....?
