G'day bergy,

I would suggest it is not normal at all. I offer the following steps for you to consider that may help fix the problem.

1. check that you have good signal strength and quality readings on the box itself.
2. if 1 above is not quite right then you may need to check the alignment of your dish.
3. the next step would be to do a reset to factory defaults in case there are some obscure settings that are causing this to happen.
4. when the reset is complete check that the LNB setting is for a "10700" unit as these boxes often default to a "universal" LNB. Make sure to press ok to confirm the setting before you exit the menu.

hope that helps

Frank

Hi all;

       This problem sounds like your dish is off direction just a bit. What happens with a digital signal is that the signal is a constant stream of information. If the dish set up is off ( any of the elevation, degrees of North or even the skew adjustment ) then the decoder will have bits of the digital signal missing.

Now all digital televisions and sat decoders have some form of compensation built in to allow you to receive a perfect signal ( in the trade this is called the bit error rate ) to high a rate and the decoder in your case will only correct for so much error. then the picture will start to brake up, lose sound and even go to a blank screen , with the wording "Poor Signal". Also this can cause the decoder to take it's time in finding the new channels and waits while the correct information is sent

This is why Vast recommend that you use a 80 cm dish and a good quality LMB.  Check your alignment if the dish, elevation and last the skew of your LMB  , all cables to you sat decoder and also it's not uncommon for the LMB to also fail and has happened to me last year. I now carry a spair LMB.

One other thing. What type of sat meter are you using ??

Last evening i reset the decoder and a miricle occured.All fixed.
I have endured the constant waiting for "Loading Data " for a long time and thought it may be the norm.
