I need to remove my tail lights on the camper. They are LED AUTOLAMPS 80Series Triple.
I need to get into the void space behind the lights. There is a Hand size Service hole behind the light fitting. Behind is a Void with no access from the inside of the van.
The lights are screwed on with Self Tappers that are accessed by removing the Red and Amber lenses.
Thing is I have forgotton which way the Tabs are for removing the individual LED Lamp units. Are the (tabs) on the sides, left / right or at top and bottom when you try to prise them off. Tried "Gently" with various tools to prise them out but not had any success. Would be great to know which edges the Tabe are on, be they Top/Bottom or Left/Right.
As a Datum/Ref point I have all the three LED units RED and AMBER LENSES with the makers www.ledautolamps.com logo at the top.
Any advice would be halpful. I have emailed Autolamps today but probably they will not be in the office till Monday before I can get a reply.
Regards
Mike

if you go into the website you quote and look at the lights they have diagrams
of how to fit and it says after screwing base on to clip the lens in place
the drawings the show seem to indicate the would have tabs top and bottom centrally
located in all three sections
it is also possible they have been sealed with a bead of silastic which you would need to cut
with a blade

I actually installed them myself a few years ago and they just Clip in. I cant remember which edges to prise.
I would say from the inside as that type has 2 legs were you can screw a nut on Maybe I am wrong Good luck anyway
Regards John
John they are screwed in from under the lenses with Self Tappers. That is why I want to remove the lenses so I can get at the self tappers to get into the void behind the lights.

Yes Brian done that mate and still cant determine which way to prise the tabs which edge are they on ? Tried what I consider reasonable force (I fitted these units) and am worried I will break them.
Can you not get behind and remove the 10 mill nuts?

Sorry mike, just sharing a thought thats all.

only other suggestion I have is try the closest Autopro outlet to you tomorrow they are agents according to the link brian
I wil nip into Martins Trailers Tomorrow morning as that is where I bought them. I will look at their display units and ask them.
Brian, I actually am replacing the Clearance lights on the side of the van with LEDs. The two rear clearance lights back onto the cavity and I need to get into the cavity to adjust the wiring. No access only with the the Rear Stop Lights unit removed.
The clips are on the short sides, but are extremely tight. My suggestion is to try using something thin like a credit card pushing it in as a screw driver is too thick! Hope the casing is not too brittle from age...

Had a look at the ones in a Trailer Parts place. Tabs are Top and bottom edge
The guy told me they can be very tight if there is a lot of Red Dust in there. Just work away at it. used a knife blade (thin marking knife) to pry in the joint then the Blade of an Engineers Square. Levering with the Eng's Square to release the Tab. Then between using a marking knife and a small flat blade srewdriver slowly easing the lens out, keeping leverage o0n the Eng's sqare. Only one out of six was easy they were all cemented in with Red Dust. The easy one took about 4 minutes. Talk about tight Trev.
Sorry no matter what I do to this picture it wants to be upside down.
Thanks for the comments everyone.

I've got\had a set on my 6x4.
They screw to trlr frame. and pop into their frame. top and bottom centre.
Thin flat blade screwdriver.
Their outer black frame "flexes" just enuff to allow then to pop out.
I've changed them to a set of "mini" 6 in long.1-1\2 high. 4 lights.
ONE piece block. If you run silicon round outer lip of lightcover\mount frame
and central cable hole.
They magic. Take up NO room for knocking off.
As my last Full. r\h one did.
