Don't use galvanized/zinc saddles onto a copper pipe. Only on for s few days and a bad reaction had started. Use the proper coated ones for copper. cheers Craig

Don't use Zinc coated anything.
in an outside or coastal environment.

Don't last ten minutes.

Plastic coated.
OR. if not real load bearing.

ALL mine outside here. are grey Plastic.
Industrial.
3\4 water pipe and cabling for deck\pool lights.

If you have to use ,wrap some ductape around copper.

There r H\Duty Plastic ones up to a decent size at Bunnings alone.

Why mess about.

I'm replacing all my metal ones on decking and carport.
Water. Solar and power.

Hi Iana,
In this case on an outside new hose tap standpipe. It was an electrical single sided one that was very strong and fitted to the existing green plug in the wall as well. But after reading about the "pig tail" issue and gas regulators etc. I thought it was worth a mention if anyone decided to re route or support any gas piping. It certainly would have caused a real problem.Lucky my plumber mate spotted it. cheers Craig
