Have you ever wondered why

The hell they did that?

The 2 banks of drawers in my '96 Jayco Westport poptop - both in same depth bench.

Spot the difference

It really does make one wonder just what they were thinking.

And the top runner of the the cutlery drawer had also worn out ( all are made of profiled hardwood, but the cutlery one was the only worn out)so I made a steel one!

And altered the cutlery drawer to take a longer insert - the tape was only used to hold in place while the Gorilla Glue cured ( magic stuff that glue)>

I now have 2 inserts ( one shorter to fit the original drawer length, for extra storage. The aluminium extension allows me to pull the drawer out further.p2479127436-5.jpg

Oh - and that extra space under the bottom drawer - how about a wee security hideaway? What burglar would ever think to totally remove the drawer? At least one would think so.

There may be something under the smaller draw that prevents it going lower.
