Iveco Daily Motorhome isssues

I purchased a 2015 Iveco Sunliner Motorhome in May  and everything was fine until in Sept. I had Hydraulic Jacks and Blue Ox Tow Hitch installed. First start up after this installation the Ododmeter began flashing constantly. Jack installer checked out his work and could not find an issue.  So went to  Iveco at Rocklea who advised it was the non genuine Radio that was installed by previous owners. They hooked up an original radio and then re installed non genuine radio. Fixed that problem and same day we drove 100klm and next morning on start up had Gearbox Fualt light come on.  Rang Iveco and was told it was probably a clitch in computer and it would go away and it did after driving 90 klm. Gearbox Fault light keeps returning intermittanley. Have returned to Iveco who checked all wiring and was told truck is right and it must be problem with tow vehicle. Although there was no tow vehicle attached when the first time the light came on.  Been to Iveco dealer at Rocklea 5 times and $1000 later still have problem.  Would appreciated any help or advice regarding this problem. My understanding is that with Mercedes Benz Sprinters, when a towbar/electrical socket is installed a special setup/Box is required to run the tail lights/indicators/brake lights so you do not have problems with the ECU and potential limp mode situations.

You may have a similar situation, potentially you will need to isolate the load of the Jacks/Blue Ox Tow hitch by running power straight from the battery to a switching electronic box to operate these pieces of equipment.

Just my thoughts, and I am not an auto electrician.

Did they fit the special tow bar harness because we had problems with our Fiat and it was because they just conected the lights direct to the tail lights etc and fiat service had to fit a special tow bar harness whic cost $250 plus $250 to fit it

Are any Fault codes coming up with this problem?

I purchased a Scan Tool and a connect cable also with a Wifi device so Mercedes Benz Sprinter Fault codes could be shown on a Tablet. If you have not already purchased a Scan Tool I suggest you do. Iveco seem to have a number of different changes over the years so you may need to do some more research prior to buying. There is a Thread on the Iveco Forum about said scan tools.

This unit does not seem to interface with a Tablet, must just show to codes and hopefully on advice from your mechanic you can clear them to get back to civilization/home..

Note the above may be unsuitable for your vehicle.

I have seen other Iveco Scanners that go up to 2013 and the overview says 2006 to 2016, so I would be wary.
