Monday my 93y/o Mum and I had routine hearing appointments. Afterwards, as we do, we lined up for Mum's Earl Grey and my coffee. Sugar levels ok so decided to have a lovely egg and bacon pie with my coffee. After I dropped Mum home I came home ready for a couple of hours of Edwin & Mia entertainment.
Yesterday Eril was out with Probus committee and I was pottering in van "modifications". I started to feel "off" around 2 but I had arranged to meet a mate to fix a problem I had. Caught up with him and came home, by this time not feeling flash at all. Eril was due home shortly so I thought I would have a lay down. WELL a few minutes later severe tummy cramps sweats and then the chills then nauseous. Never felt that sort of tummy pain before. All night sweats, chills and cramping legs that are very difficult to unlock with my accident related foot drop!!!!! Shocking night for me and didn't do much for Erils sleep either I reckon.
By 11 this morning I was improving and after some Endone for my back, missed all meds the night before, I had a shower and some Vegemite toast and black tea. Really plays havoc with my type 1 Diabetes when things like this happen. Now feeling totally washed out and have put van mods back a day or two.
The only thing I ate that Eril didn't was the egg & bacon pie so we reckon I had full on food poisoning!!!
The driver had a similar experience with a bacon and egg quiche. He had his cornea transplant done on a Tuesday after a long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the quiche in the recovery area. He was very ill for a few days vomiting black liquid. Cant help feeling the pies were in the fridge too long!!!
