Water Piping.

My van is 6 years old & I have had 2 plastic water lines split in the past 4 months, I have been thinking of replacing all the water lines with copper piping. has anyone had this problem & if so how did you overcome it. I would like any successful idea.

G'day Maxwell,

I would suggest that the plastic piping in your van is of inferior quality to genuine John Guest Pipe.

Replacement with genuine JG pipe would be a better way to go. Mine is 6 yo and had no issues to date.

Hi Frank, greatly appreciate your reply so fast, all the piping both cold & hot water & fittings are of John Guest Type. I did find out that the piping will deteriorate quiet fast if exposed to the elements which was the case with the first split pipe and is was very brittle. The second one is further under the van and is not subjected to the elements and is as flexible as the remainder of piping, also the split was 3mm past the fitting on the outer side of the pipe. Max

Hi Max

that really does suggest the pipe is not genuine JG.
