Caravan roof damage

Hi Every one ,This is my first time writing to the G N forum and I would like some feedback if possible  in regards to my 18 month old caravan .I went clean the van in preparation for a trip and  I noticed that the roof had warped severely it looked like someone had walked over it .I contacted the caravan warranty company and they said it was heat stress as it is a floating roof I have not seen this on a van roof before and I wondering if they are trying to fob me off .Has anybody else had this problem and if so should I take the matter further. Thanks for any help

 cheers

That is not uncommon and typical in the caravan industry, unless the van has a solid ply roof under the sheeting they often sag. Also a lack of adequate insulation under the roof sheeting will allow hollow areas to form which then hold a considerable amount of water. As long as the roof is not leaking I suspect that you may have to live with the issue.  Cheers Allen

Even with solid ply underneath they buckle and bow with heat but that is only natural . Metal has to be allowed to expand when heated.

If you want a shock, go to the caravan show, find a high spot and have a look down on the caravan roofs.
