New Diesel heater installed in van. Tried to start but turned itself off after about a minute. Generated error code E9. Stated in manual to be blocked fan.. checked fan no apparent problem.. every attempt to start results in same scenario. not sure if there is problem inside the heater or if the error code has simply failed to reset.
These heaters go thru a start up routine, did you hear the pump clicking?
Did you open the air vent to the diesel tank?
The heater software may also think there is a blockage in your air intake under the van (muffler clogged or causes air resistance), so would remove this pipe and try again
Make sure that the fuel line is primed from the tank to pump and from pump to heater. Also check that pump flow is correct direction.
Good idea to energise pump on its own to check that it is pumping.
These heaters are also very suseptible to low voltage ,particularly at "start up". Battery condition and feed cable size from battery can also cause problems.
But do not worry , it will be worth it once you get it operating - best thing ever on a cold night.

Hi Bronzewing just keep this quiet will ya please but when I fitted mine I put the fuel pump in line backwards and it wouldnt start either so check that you have fuel coming out of the pump , believe me it makes a big difference when the pump is the right way around ,lol

Thanks for the help but still no joy.
When I switch it on, the Screen shows a fan but I dont hear the fan start, it immediately goes to the error code and everything stops within 10seconds of switch on. That means prior to the pump activating..
I can seen in the fuel line that it is primed up as far as the pump. (Which is pumping in the right direction). There is fuel above the pump which would indicate that when I originally tried to start the heater the pump was working and pushing fuel towards the heater.. The tank is full and vented. The pump is inclined at about 45 degrees and the tank outlet is lower than the inlet on the heater.
The dual battery is new and fully charged. I needed to extend the battery wires by about 600mm and used the appropriate heavy gauge cable.
A visual check of the exhaust and air intake pipes shows that they both look ok. I am hoping to avoid uninstalling the heater to check properly because the location is a bit challenging..
I originally thought that the problem was the error code not resetting, but now I realise that I can remove it from the screen and re attempt a start. This seems to indicate that there is a physical problem that is stopping the machine from starting.
The PPAP brand is simply a stick on label. It is a generic Chinese heater.
Thanks help
On our Diesel Heater we can just run the Fan, by selecting the fan on the control switch, Can you test out the Fan using the Fan switch.
The Fan error code may be the last test that was carried out prior to the Fault problem. It relatively easy to take the cover off these heaters when in situ (after the battery has been disconnected) your circuit Diagram could well be similar to the one in the following write up, to test out the Fan.
Just in case its a low voltage problem I would set up a charged Battery with heavy 1m cables connected to your heater to confirm its not a voltage problem.
Have seen a start up routine, showing what is checked next after the Fan, eg Glowplug this could be the item that is Faulty.
As a last resort Phone Roger at Diesel Heating Australia he has helped many users of different brands at mainland CMCA rallies, myself included, when I had problems with a Glow plug, I replaced it, but a pin in a connection plug was not seated correctly (and I did not know it). I removed my Heater freighted to him and he fixed it up at a reasonable cost.

I've no idea if the error codes in this document have any relationship to your system but at least it provides a list of the things that will stop this particular heater working - I imagine the list for yours will be similar:
Thanks for all the help. I have tried every suggestion without success.
I have removed the the heater, harness and fuel line from the caravan and set it up on the bench for a test.
It still does not work. Produces the same error code
I can only assume that the equipment is faulty...I am now trying to contact the seller!!!!!
Bronswing
For a bit of closure..
I got back to the eBay seller and he finally decided that the problem was the electronic control unit. He supplied me with one immediately and once fitted the unit worked correctly. It is now humming along nicely.
Thanks to everyone for all the help

Laurie,
I have just installed the same brand of heater, no succuess as either fuel pump is faulty or controller is faulty. 9.6 V at pump and 13.8V at supply. I'm not sure if pump or controller is faulty as I'm guessing that pump should have 12V. Ebay seller is sending a new pump as no noise or fuel being pumped. Fuel is at pump but nothing (fuel) past it. Seems like a common problem.

Looks like the "back-up" is pretty good, so do not worry . Once you have it up and running you will reckon that it is the best addition you have ever put in your van.
Sadly today is not my lucky day.
Finished installation and switched the unit On. The fan started but then stopped after about 10 seconds. Error code E15 came up and according to the manual this means " Control Board fault".
Codes E13 to E16 are all listed as control Board faults but according to the download from Mike, E15 is a fuel pump error.
When I run direct power to the pump it clicks once only. I am guessing I have a fuel pump issue. Bugger.
Try disconnecting power leads from the battery - maybe just remove the fuse - (like rebooting a computer) reconnect after 5 min and give it another go

Ours is PPAP diesel heater. All installed & connected properly, but nothing, no pump, nothing! The controller is nothing like what is in the pamphlet or on YouTube. So completely stopped. Any help appreciated
So now a week or so down the track and its a mixed result. The unit worked as it should for about a week then error code C-02 Injector fault started to show. At first if I released the fuel cap then tried again and it started. After two days this was no longer the case and we had no operation. Moved to our next camp site and now it works. All that is different is the van is now completey level East/West (side to side) while before it was not. The level was not enough to create any major issue with any other van function.
Has anyone experienced incorrect level to be an issue.
The diesel pump is a solenoid type, and requires a series of 12volt pulses, to bench run the pump you will need to keep tapping one of the connections to power to get the fuel flowing.
