Great question you ask but sorry I can't help but will follow your question and hopefully great answers.

I have a TJM 4x4 pump but find it very slow.

Hasn't had a lot of use, but it inflates tyres quickly and is very reasonably priced.

At Inskip Point last week a neighbour lent me a small 240v compressor to reinflate my tyres . Only cost him $98 at Total Tools. Not sure if it will reach your pressure requirements but was very fast getting back to 45psi from 20psi. Obviously I needed to run my generator to use it.

HI Ron,

Same as the thumper only I got the double thumper, Caravan and motorhomes on tour did an offer, from memory 10 mags with dvd and a dt thrown in for a little over $100, most impressed, later bought a blow nozzle to suit to blow out the tug heaps of air and to test blew up a mates truck tyre to 95psi no probs.

I have absolutely no afiliation with the mag or the store just found a good product for once.

Most compressors will do 80 psi (for a while anyway). When they wear, their maximum pressure will be less. What you are after is volume as well as pressure. If you want quick inflation, I suggest that you look for a unit with at least 150 L/min capacity. This will most likely be a twin cylinder compressor and cost around $150 to $200. For around $100 you could get a unit with around 80 L/s (probably a single cylinder) and wait a little longer whilst it pumps up your tyres. Note that any compressor which uses a cigarette lighter plug is going to be a low capacity unit.

Bitdeals on eBay have a 300 l/f one its twin cly and is less than $150 does our motorhome easy

Bill B's "Thumper Max Dual Air" seems a good unit at 300L/minute using up to 90Amps at a good price too. I run the Cruiser engine to power my 180L/Min Compressor from the battery using up to 50 Amps. My compressor hose is the coiled version but may be more fragile than the straight hose with the "Max Dual".

I find the connection hose/compressor gets very hot and my cables get warm as well, heavier gauge wire would allow the compressor to perform better in my view.

Hi Billy,

The Thumper Max Dual seems to draw 90a. Presumably you haven't encountered any deterioration to your car battery?? What PSI do our tyres need (hopefully at least 80PSI)?

Two options.
1. 12V electric Boss Big Pro PX-07. I have had one of these for over 10 years and it will do what you want. It is continuous rated.

I also use it to operate the diff lock. It is mounted with a small accumulator tank, a filter and a pressure switch that keeps the tank between 120psi and 150 psi.

2.Belt driven from the engine "Endless Air" (google it).
