We are now at Hermannsberg, (& have reception), about to head west along the Gary Junction Rd after a visit to Palm Valley for tonight. (Uncertain when we will next have reception)
Night before last our water pipes froze whilst we camped alongside the Hugh River in the West Macs.
Found some old sleeping bag filling by the side of a track & used it to lag some pipes. Still had water this morning despite some left outside in a bucket freezing solid whilst camped at Boggy Hole, Finke Gorge NP last night.

Another great read, I enjoyed following the 'Big' trucks. Um, I wasn't following, you were, that's how good you told us about it. ALL the pics are 'pool room' worthy as well.
Only one thing though, I think JTK would be very disappointed in you not applying "warp speed". Oh well!
I worry what would happen if I or anyone would approach such big trucks on similar roads how we could get past with a CV in tow

Another good read Cuppa and Mrs T, so thanks for that
I was unaware, and I will assume that others were also unaware that...
In the small communities with very high prices, the locals also have to pay that high price
Snip from one of the blogs We had assumed that the prices - 3 times that we are used to (eg. $12 for a small box of cornflakes) were tourist prices. Not so, here folk who have no work, & exist on a small government pension pay just the same. A young thin barefoot chap in front of us bought sufficient food for what we considered a normal meal for two - meat & 2 veg - $63!
Hi folks, it's been a while without a phone signal, so my apologies in advance for posting half a dozen new blog posts today whilst we have a connection. Hope you enjoy them.
Always a good read MrC and MrsT. Pool room quality pics yet again. I loved the 'Running Waters' one and looks sooooo peaceful. There was even a pic of a mermaid, well done.
I reckon your entry into the "possibilities book" for 'Scruffy' was well toward the back.
Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Hi folks, just one post this time, but it's a longer one & lots of pics. Have been camped up at James Price Point north of Broome for the past couple of weeks.
Sorry Dougwe, there is is something odd about how this forum handles links, sometimes they work & other times not, & for the life of me I cannot work out why. This is the only forum I have that problem. If anyone can tell me where I'm going wrong & explain how putting a correct link to one of my blog posts results in returning to the top of the thread here rather than to my blog post happens I would be most grateful.
In the meantime my latest blog post, in which we move to Goombaragin, Dampier Peninsula, WA to prepare for our first wet season in this remote part of the country can be read at:
- if clicking on the link doesn't work, copying it & pasting it into your browser's address bar should. I think perhaps the link might work this time as I just typed it into the post, rather than highlighting it & trying to make it a link. <shakes head slowly from side to side in exasperation>.
EDIT: Yep that seems to work. I'll edit my previous post so it works too. :)
EDIT AGAIN. It seems that no matter how I try to edit my previous post I simply cannot get the link to work. I tried 'un-linking it/ deleting it & typing it in as in this post, & whistling the national anthem! None seem to work . ADMIN/MODERATORS - please can you help me to work out what the problem I'm having with links is?
EDIT ONCE MORE. I now think that although clicking 'EDIT' on my previous post takes me to the editor, that it does not work. I tried deleting the entire text & replacing with new text (simply saying 'Nonsense'), but on hitting 'submit' the text posted was that which I had deleted. If there is a time limit on being able to edit a post why does the forum software give me the option to edit???
