Upgrade of outside shower on the Bushtracker

ive posted this on the BT owners site. But I think it is a great upgrade for those with outside showers.

I have been frustrated By the outside shower hose and hand piec. The hose is too short and very stiff and inflexible until a fair amount of hot water has passed through it to soften it up.

The hand piece is ok for adults but young grandkids believe the shower should flow luxuriantly the entire time they are in there. Forget about shut off valves, they just dont use them.

I found a shower replacement breach on YouTub. It is the DURA Faucet DF-SA186-BK. About $90 on eBay delivered from US.

The hose is several meters long and similar to a wash down hose on a boat. The hose attaches to the breach via a bayonet fitting. The shower head is the same as many found on garden hoses with a dial head with settings, spray, cone jet etc. It is operated by a squeeze lever so after wetting down the washee lets go to suds up and the water shuts off.

When finished unplug the bayonet and store in a bag in the boot.

Took about 20 minutes to remove old unit and install new one in the shower box.

The jet spray makes it handy blasting out the cubby house the thetford thunder box lives in. I know its clean but I like to make sure.
