Sat tv vast

hi

I have had vast for sometime and used this successfully however got tired of the set up process

i bought a sat king dish which picks up sbs and abc easy

I have a altech box

I cant seem to get the GWN And other commercial station error E16-4

have tried remit several times but still only get abc /sbs

is this because I am testing at home, do you have to be travelling to get the other channels or is there something else wrong

You need to have your vast system registered with    www.mysattv.com.au    to get the channels that you are not getting.  This needs to be done every 6 months.

Or phone their call centre  1300993376   9 AM- 4:30 PM  AEST.

or you can do it on line . I have found emailing them when I have had a problem works with a short response time

G'day bushyq

a couple of things you need to be aware of here,

1. if you do a rehit you need to have the box on and receiving the setup channel 800
2. if you want to view WA channels you need to advise mysattv that you are touring WA. You can do this by email or phone.
3. make ssure your registration is current. If it has expired you need to re register as a traveller.

The code you are seeing is explained here: E16-4 No permission to view this channel
Please ensure you have registered your smartcard. If you have already done so please be aware that there is a 48hour processing time. You can also call 1300 993 376 for more information.

It does not matter where you are while doing the setup and testing.

hope that helps

Frank

Just one thing, we had lots of error issues with two Altech boxes. Then we bought a Satking box. Very rarely needs retune. Thats at home. Cant be bothered when on the road.

Reregistered, Rehit, Advised MySatTV iM touring, Reistered as a traveller,

Rang the 1300 number and this is now not answered, only talks you through the resubmit and rehit options

Thinking I may ahve to go with Satking reciever

G'day Bushyq

What you describe is usually due to the card number being typed incorrectly. Either during the registration process or whilst doing a rehit.

I would contact Mysattv via the web page and ask them to help you sort out the issue with your registration.

If you can see abc/sbs there is nothing wrong with your box. perhaps a rescan will clear things up too.

Fixed!!!!

How good was that. Been messing with this for two weeks
Got this email really from vast

Due to the fact you have reregistered this on the ABC Vast site for ABC and SBS only, which we do not have access too.

Your application has been forwarded to our technician to enable all commercial services in our data base. This may take up to 24 Hrs.

Sorry guys a little of subject. The Altech box is married to the card as I understand.
Questions is will the same card operate in a Satking box.

Just for interest sake I use foxtel 99% of the time. I also have an active Altech box as backup, just give it a hit and away she goes. Don't use it because of the need for an inverter to bring it up to 240v just for the box to step it back down to 12v. Can the box be converted to 12v? It's a question I will ask a tech that belongs to the BMW club I belong to when I see him again.

Steve

1. NO the satking box should have its own card. ALL boxes will only operate with the card supplied with the box.

2. Yes there is a conversion kit for Altech boxes to run them on 12Vdc. Check here for availability and prices

www.satplus.com.au

www.accessantennas.com.au

THIS is the site you need to register on www.mysattv.com.au/travellers.aspx

Just another story about failing rehits, I hadn't used the altech box for a few weeks and over a morning I had trouble getting rid of the "expired card" warning as I know I am still registered, sometimes it is supposed to auto connect after waiting for an hour or two but nothing, so I rang the altech no and a young guy told me over the phone to pull the card out , wipe the contacts with some metho, wait till dry and reinsert, bingo, instant signal, something to do with contact problem, I started using sat tv back when the aurora system was brought in and I find the vast system very annoying when it has to reboot and scan every time I plug in, with the older system everything was stored on the card so when I plugged in it worked straight away, anyway, just another story, cheers Paul.
