Bluetooth Battery Monitor

Has anyone tried one of these?

or

I was interested in the comment on the Supercheap review that reckoned it flattened the battery but others said it was good if something only started infrequently.

Yep been using one of the supercheap ones for about 12 months .only complaint Is the bluetooth range isnt good ( pretty much need to be leaning on the the truck to connect ) but other than that it works well and easy install . Can monitor the batteries in the back of my tug from the drivers seat.

Do you just want to monitor the voltage of a remote battery via Bluetooth, or do you want a full battery monitor that can output a blue tooth signal to send all the information to a scroll down screen on your phone? The Victron BMV 712 is an excellent battery monitor with the full blue tooth thing to send it all to a smart phone.

Hi Leo, I got one of the monitors off Ebay , it didn't work on my older phone so I hooked it up to an Android 6 tablet, I keep it on the bench when camped up or on the seat while driving, when I set the notification alarm on high it gives a good warning sound when the battery falls below the set %. I had trouble pairing and connecting the first couple of weeks but it works quite well now.

Anyone who has the Matson one..... I bought one but cannot find the Bluetooth pairing Passkey to use to connect to my phone.
The phone can detect it ok, but I don't know what code to put in - tried 000 & 1234 - no go :(

 From this web site.

https://www.autoelec.com.au/matson-wireless-bluetooth-battery-monitor-sense-sy

The third paragraph down says it should hook up automatically if you have the correct app. BM 2 according to the instructions.

Maybe re install the app.

I hope this helps

Thanks Dicko. Have re-installed app and can get to its settings. However while the Bluetooth on both my Android phone and also on my Windows computer can detect the bluetooth device (battery Monitor), they are both asking for a PIN to enable the device to be paired.
I've heard from others who say that the battery monitor Bluetooth link "just connects - no questions asked" when they do it on their iPhone. Maybe my security settings are too tight?

You could try scanning the QR code with the camera part of your smart phone but I have never had much success doing this with other products.
The QR code could be on the packaging, the paperwork or on the device itself. It will be like a bar code.
Try scanning it when asked during set up...
Good luck with it,
