Hi all, does anybody know if you can record programs that i have previously recorded on Foxtel IQ box on to a portable hard drive ?

Probably not digitally as it's more than likely the recorded programs will be encrypted. Only way, if the IQ box has a composite video/audio outlet (red/white/yellow RCA connectors), would be to use that, connected to a USB video capture dongle plugged into a PC or laptop with your portable hard drive set as the destination drive for the resulting video. Same system used for recording from VHS/Beta video recorders and DVD players onto a PC.
