gme tx3350

Hi, I have installed a GME TX 3350 with the 6.6DBi Antenna that came as a package deal.

I have it mounted to the nudge bar on the Pajero and the antenna is about 4-6 inchers below the roof line.

It doesn't pick up a very good reception  when someone is talking on it, lots of static and white noise.

Does the radio have to be tuned in ????.

Is the antenna to low and would it be better moved to the top of the front guard on the bracket provided.

Is there another reason why the poor reception.

Thanks

Ross

Yes you can tune out the static. The user manual will tell you how to do

Hi wombat50

The noise you hear is quite commonly reduced or eliminated by the Squelsh control setting.

Note page 6 of the manual

Here is the manual.

Try this before doing anything else.....
