Why wouldn't you buy something locally built?
Cheers,
Peter

Peter, I think you will find that they are made in Brisbane.

Apollo/Talvor found it to expensive to manufacture here as they have to pay their employees more then $10 an hour, so they make them in the good old US of A.

They are actually made in Brisbane.  We looked at buying one last year.  The factory at that time was in the same complex as the sales yard.  They are made to specific designs, and the manufacturer won't change the design for personal preferences.  Keeps the costs down apparently.  We liked the vans and had just about made up our mind to buy one (Bourke B or C from memory), despite a couple of small compromises because of the inflexibility.  Had been speaking with the sales manager and he was called away by a phone call.  Was passed to a salesman who completely downplayed or ignored my wife's questions?  Guess what happened?  We now have a Sunseeker van.

I take it all back :) It seems that they are made in Oz and that they are a fibreglass sandwich panel construction, so might be pretty good.
Only the profits will go off shore :(
Need to get the highest ATM though and even that is a bit marginal IMHO.
Cheers,
Peter

Apollo Tourism and Leisure (ATL) is an Australian company listed on the ASX.
They originally built motorhomes for their hire fleet under the name of Talvor and later Talvor caravans.
When they acquired the Winnebago brand name licence they simply called their motorhomes and caravans Winnebago instead of Talvor.
They are built in their Brisbane factory.

They also own hire companies in the US and Europe.
