The other day, I got back some cut and polished gemstones from Thailand. These are all stones I'd found in QLD and I believe the fished products are quite beautiful.
There are polished sapphire as well as cut sapphires, topaz, a zircon and a spinel.
I can't wait to get out and do some more fossicking.

I had quite a few cut in Thailand (about 100) and I got about 50% back cut as gems. The other 50% were rejected (no reason given) but they were returned. Took a long time. Well over three months to get back. Hang in there.
Now, I have all these stones and don't know what to do with them. Will cost a fortune to set. lol.
My sister mines opals. Makes jewellery. sells at markets. Her equipment cost a lot. So do the gold. silver and various findings. Great hobby but expensive and hard work. I'm too clumsy and lack patience.
The parcel of sapphires I sent to Thailand were part of a joint parcel with hers. We spend about 2weeks digging etc in Sapphire, Rubyvale area. Although she said she could have done it herself it wasn't worth the time and wear and tear on her tools. The average cost to get 50 cut faceted stones worked out to about $4 each. Was quoted $20 each in Sapphire Qld.
Gidday Eric,
Had them done by Lamberts, Bangkok. It took just over 3 months but I was expecting that after warning from friends who use Lamberts.
Not fast but good job and not too expensive.
Cheers,
Roy.
Roy,
My sister got her invoice today,(Lamberts) was pleased with the price, especially compared to ones she had done at Rubyvale
Thanks for all replies.
Eric.
