Leaking filler connection

i have attached a pic of the back of the mains connection filler fitting , my question is is there a rubber O ring or a gasket between the two sections what are screwed together. I dont have anything suitable for a gasket nor o rings in my bits and pieces , so would prefer to be prepared if I pull it apart.

If it was mine,I would pull the inlet pipe from the fitting, extend the filler pipe and take it through the floor and connect it to a quality brass inlet valve mounted in a convenient place for your hose on the chassis. AVG make an excellent pressure reducing inlet valve with the choice of three pressures. About 90 sheckles from memory, but fit for a lifetime. That fitting of yours looks like one of the cheap plastic stuff that Jayco fit, and prone to leak.

Do you think you could describe that picture a bit more, is one tube a mains pressure filling point, and the black one inch tube a gravity filling point. Just can't understand what I am seeing, or weather the picture is the right way up.
Where abouts is the leak?

The mains connection looks to have a John guest fitting screwed to the back of it. these are readily available at caravan shops and plumbing suppliers. There is an o ring inside where the black pipe is inserted. Search online for john guest fittings to see how they are supposed to be installed.

Yes . What I have . The external side shower hot line leaked . It was under fridge unit where connection was . But finding the actual leak ! It ended up joining hot - cold together to Atleast stop the leak . BUT. I guess the hot water side has pressure valve . We had no consistent hot water . In either elect or gas water heater . I cut 20mm off pipe and applied plumbing grease to protect O ring. Equal and opposite reactions !!

Yep, certainly looks like a John Guest fitting.  But when you replace it, first install a collar inside the pipe to keep it rigid & reduce later leeks & secondly, don't use a spanner on the nut.  Over tightening will crack the fitting leading to leaks.  How do I know?  Made the same mistakes before.

edit ....  Oops, forgot to endorse the plumbing grease tip.

Good luck
