Hi

That idea deserves 1x banned bags placed over head and tightened . Once u pass out that's how long that thought bubble should have lasted . If u survive I`m guessing u will not consider it. Similar experience for the engine .
Good luck and happy trails with our ebay Chinese product .
Snorkels have drain ports or openings around the base of the inlet section and as air enters the snorkel a swirling motion is formed and centrifical force forces any water or dust to collect at the inside surface of the snorkel and drain through the ports. Even in torrential rain minimal water will enter your engine. Any that does will be contained at the air filter. Placing a plastic bag over the snorkel will starve the engine of air. Don't worry about it.4
Sorry folks - my attempt at misplaced humour. It is tongue in cheek - not meant to be true.

Thanks John.I almost took the bait, but I then had a think about it and realised that you probably were just having a bit of fun! Even the most dull people around would not do something like that....or would they? Cheers

I recommend to try a string bag next time, but I do like the thought involved in reusing a single use plastic bag. Maybe you could put the whole snorkel in it and thoughtfully place it in the appropriate bin ..... not the recycling one or we'll have a repeat performance of the bites you got
I wonder how many are now sitting at home with their heads hung low
