NEW TYRES FITTED

Hi all,

You might remember a while back I asked about tyres. Well, last Friday I had 4 Bridgestone Duellers A/T LT fitted to the Collie.

They seem quieter and I am still sorting out pressures. Niiiice!

Thanks for all your help at the time of asking. As usual you were a great help.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

That is the beauty of this foram, plenty of advice.
I still have about 15000 klms left before I need to visit Bridgestone.
Happy travels Doug.

Sounds pretty good Doug. You seem to feel more confident when you have new rubber down under.

They are what I use. I am also going to replace 4 in the next few weeks,   before our next few months away up in the "Kimberley".

What sort of price each did you pay ?

$235 each , Mike.

I got the Collie serviced by them as well and they chucked in the Alignment.

Extemely happy with the company all round including the tyres.

Baz, I was just thanking those that gave opinions or help when I asked for it a while back. Thanks is something that lacks at times on the forum and life in general.

Good on you Doug,
On my two past Patrols, I only used the same brand/series twice (on my GQ) - that's not saying the other tyres weren't any good as they all gave similar life.

However since buying the GU (& I was the 4th owner in 8 years), I've only used the 697 Bridgestones.
I get them from Bob Jayne for similar prices to shown above. Initially they were $225 but now are $235 inc wheel alignment.

Pressures - around town & my bus weighs nearly 3T, I put 41 (rear) & 40psi in them; on the highway - 43 & 41 (F), towing 44 & 42. Up the Birdsville Track - 38 & 36 (or slightly less) - I have never had any trouble with these tyres - except to raise the eyebrows of the salesman once when I replaced the set (4) in less than two years. But I did over 50,000Kms in that time!

Hi Doug. The Isuzu had these fitted when I bought it new and I replaced them with another set at about 66,000. The tyre bloke told me to run them on 40 all round when not towing and 45 in the rear when towing. That works well for me but my van is lighter than yours.

Funnily enough, I bought the tyres from a Kmart Service Centre as they were much cheaper than from the Bridgestone dealer. Go figure!
