hi, my victron bmv700 has no display, it had been working for 2 years. I have read that there is a fuse for it, where would it be? Someone else wired it all up.

Last weekend I had trouble with my electronics, rang the manufactor and pesto after a couple minutes had my problem solved.
Forum members could not help unfortunately. Simple case of disconnect and reconnect.
On the shunt there is a small red wire that should lead back to the battery positive. The shunt is the thing with a big brass block and bolt each end and has the battery negative cable going to one end.
If you follow this small red cable you will find a round black fuse holder. These things are the major weak point in an otherwise great piece of gear. I recommend you get a blade inline fuse holder and fit that in place of the small round glass fuse and fit it with a 5 amp blade fuse.
Those with the 702 and 712 that have to 2 red wires going to the shunt, if you replace the 2 fuse holders with inline blade fuse holders, the false alarm mid voltage errors will stop occurring. The surface area of the soldered wire end that makes contact with the glass fuse is very small and corrosion will build up causing dodgy voltage reading causing false error warnings.
