RECALL: Opalite Skoot Tandem Caravan

Gday...

I have resisted exposing myself to any further ridicule by posting informative posts concerning recalls to pertinent vehicles owned/operating by folk on here.

However, I thought I should not let this one go past -

Cheers - John

Yep this one could have deadly consequences with wheel and axles underated to stamped GTM.

Snip from the article
Affected caravans are marked with a gross trailer mass (GTM) rating of 2600kg and above. The axle bearings are unable to support a GTM in excess of 2500kg.

If the caravans reach a GTM in excess of 2500kg, there is potential for the axle bearings to fail and the wheel to dislocate.

Agree this would be a very dangerous situation
I wonder how they found this fault, after and not before, manufacturing them
