Home battery storage for Mobil home

HI I am hoping that one of you who reads this has some knowledge on home storage batteries, I have been looking at enphase batteries and power wall ect ect, can they be used in mobile homes, have you or someone you know already done this and if not why? as my friend liked to say where there is a will there is aw...

I think you will find most of these batteries require connection to a grid connect inverter, very different to an off grid set up like you need for a mobile home.

Youll have to work out the voltage Im
Sure it can be done . I know of batteries from Mitzi elect car used .. On mains power at homes . The frequency is controlled from the grid .require an inverter which generates correct wave .

Hi Goosesmile

Good question if you are a solar and battery beginner. But the answer is not so good in a caravan/motorhome mobile situation. These systems are designed to be used in a standard house situation which is supplied by the grid at 230V AC and all the household items are all designed for 230V AC power. The supply grid is an integral part of the design and is used for setting the AC frequency of the integrated inverter and also is used as a sink for excess power and a source for extra power that may be needed in the normal fluctuations of a household. Without that grid backup it will not work as supplied and indeed is not approved for use by the manufacturer or the electrical authorities.

I am sure that you could buy one of these systems and modify it to do something else different to the original design. However IMHO you would have to submit that for type approval and testing to ensure the safety is up to normal 230V AC approvals as all other houshold items must have.

So it would be better to do what all other mobile people do and use a low voltage DC battery setup and solar panels and use that DC directly and perhaps an inverter for some AC items. You can get the same type of batteries that are used in these systems to set up for DC use.
