RED CENTRE, HOW BUSY IS IT NOW?

Now that school holidays are over it appears that the pressure on the region has reduced a little.

Is there anyone there at the moment that can give any information.

We mostly free camp.

Haven't been there myself (not that crazy) but the campground is reporting it is fully booked till late August, it is expected to remain packed out until the climb closes late October and the I must climb hysteria subsides.

It's busy pretty much all the time, CP holds about 300 vans I reckon, plus tour buses with kids school camps, closest free camp would be Curtin Springs about 60 k out.

We went there when the Dalai Lama and that other Buddhist monk, Richard Gere were there, probably totally booked out, no accommodation left anywhere......bloody nightmare

Cheers Bob
