Hi, Im new to this site, so Im sorry in advance for posting this probably already covered question. What brake controller did you choose for your vehicle and why did you choose it. Has anyone gone for "Elecbrakes". This system appeals because you can use multiple vehicles to tow your van. Your input would be much appreciated.
Cheers Bickies.

Another for the RedArd Tow Pro. Wouldn't use anything else. Proportional braking, hidden main unit, able to place control knob easily to hand so you are not scrabbling around at the bottom of the dash tryibg to find it in a hurry when theres an emergency. Just a great unit all around.
Hi ,another thumbs -up for the Redarc tow-pro elite . Pleeeese make sure that the person fitting it ,if not yourself ,knows about the ready available dash plates that replace the standard ones . My auto electrician drilled a soddin hole in my dash ,6 month old Triton, also in a place that was covered by the steering wheel when driving . Words cannot express my anger at the time !! i`ve since moved it using the `triton redarc plate` . Andy .
These need fitting as per instructions by RedArc. Mine was installed by a elec and he hooked up to the existing wires from the cotroller he took out. This then made the unit not work correctly. ARB refitted it with new correct size wireing and connections as per fitting instructions in the package.. Perfect.

Be very careful who you choose to fit it. I have twice now had them fitted incorrectly giving me a LOT of grief. Suggest an auto electrician. Avoid the local dealers or mechanics unless highly recomended. They have no idea.
I opted to have my tow bar installer do the Tow Pro install. They are resellers and this was a good guide for me. I do a lot of work myself but the small extra cost is worth peace of mind.
Hi
Tekonsha Prodigy.. Its an earlier version of P3
Has boost function and canbe swapped easily car to car .. The Redarc versions donot .
The boost function is invaluable and allows u to tune elec braking far better than a controller without it.
Boost braking tunes the first initial brake application starting point eg B1=10% , B2=20% , B3=30% . By having Boost this allows the max adjustment to be dialled back somewhat and not having to turn it up to get better initial braking . Having the max adjustment dialled in heavily u risk lock up . Boost function takes care of all this .
