Why is it so? Professor Julius Sumner Miller, a profound influence on my life, who explained science to us on TV in the 60's.
Went through the manual and it showed 2 RPP errors, but not one specificly stating RPP Fault. As we are not 12v or solar savvy, we called and got the professional word. Have disconnected the panel and informed it should be an easy fix to possibly replace meter, but also replace the cotrol box (not sure of correct name) that everything plugs into.
Well, the fix it man has arrived and the fixing has begun
Batteries, not happy. Numbers on meter not good. 2 new batteries, and slightly bigger ones, from 105 to 120. Fixed wiring bridge as well, part of the issue that killed the batteries
Solar controller, not accepting any charge. New controller
Solar panel, not happy, several sections have cracks. Unknown brand, probably cheapy. New solar panel, slightly bigger, better quality. From 140 to 160. Adding an extra one while getting the work done
And have been informed that bits are compatable if we go lithium down the track
We are not 12v savvy, so all work done in the past has been done by the so called professionals, but the work done has been done to a very basic standard, and enough to get us by.
It makes sense now, when it is explained as a big picture we can understand why we have had these failings. With previous work done to a basic standard and some at different times, nothing has been done to work together, and cabling not heavy enough.
Any way, we are on the right track now. Matt has explained everything he is doing, needs to do, and will do.
Not that we wanted to have this extra cost, but at least everything will be done to work together and done at a higher standard.
In the new year, when Matt has the time, we will get the car sorted. Told him we have replaced aux battery once already, so that will all be checked out.
