We are now at a place that only has bore water, water is very restricted. We have our own onboard supply. At the moment we are bucketing the bore water to avoid mixing. Has anyone added provision to split their water system so the hot, through the water heater and drinking water is good water, supplied by the on-board tank and pump, but the toilet, and cold water system is bore water. Our travels are such that we are going to meet more of this.
I think this will only mean the installation of a tee and a couple of valves in the system.
The other alternative is the purchase of a B.E.S.T filter unit.
When I am on the farm in Young NSW and that is a lot, I am on bore water only. I run it through a twin 10" water filter system and a BEST just before entering the aluminium teepee. I drink bottled water though.
Where I am set up as we speak in Kelly Country VIC, I am also on bore water in the country CVP out of town. I have the same set up here. All seems to work for me.
I am hooked up to a tap at both places not my tanks.

Hi Ian
We have 2 125 litre water tanks, I have fitted two pumps which draw from there own tanks, one I keep as known good water which goes to cold water at sink.
Other tank is used for everthing else, including hot. I also have a couple of extra taps and switches to be able to use either pump or tank in the case of pump failure. Had to run extra pipe to sink, three taps total, and two extra power switches to isolate pumps. Been good so far.
Regards
2.5L to 3L max a day for each of us. Can only carry up to 80L before it gets in the way. For the other end to avoid wasting water we use a spade & bury, & wash hands carefully!

Water is usually available but often non-potable. We run a separate tank, pump and outlet for drinking water.
Have seen a lot of folk buy 10 litre plastic bottles from supermarket and just replace when empty. Depends where you are going and how much space you have.
We have totally separate water systems for washing and drinking, but it is rare that we can not make any water potable by chlorination and micro carbon filtration.
Cheers,
Peter
