Cost for service

Just want an idea for the cost of 6speed auto trans. service for my car, getting some wildly different quotes from the centers I,ve asked for a service, understand that a flush is more costly but would probably go this way because of towing, Joda.

You need to be more specific Type of car minor/major service, 2WD/4WD, Mileage, only transmission service or full service?
The only auto I have ever owned was $200 just to flush and replace fluid GM300 Transmission on Rolls. Last Gearbox service on Patrol cost $2,100 including new clutch plate.

Car is 2015 ford territory diesel r.w.d done 70,000klms about 12,000 towing 1900k.g. poptop, only need tranmission service, I take it Your patrol is a manual? No probs. with the trans just a piece of mind fluid change. These service people won,t commit to a price until they see the car even thou you tell them details of the car, surely such a common normal service they can give a ballpark figure, Joda.

Normally if you call a franchise store such as K-Mart they will give an indicative price and an Hourly rate for contingencies.

Transmission service for 6 speed automatic by a auto transmission specialist, includes sump removal and filter replacement. $440 including GST.

Quoted price by dealer service, $495, just a flush and oil change.

You may find it`s a "full/fit for life" unit.

I would suggest you consult you service manual, and or a Ford dealership; but they may want you $`s.

But, good old google search may be of help.

I would defiantly do some research before you part with the "hard earned".

Regards.

Hetho.

The last service on my 6 speed auto gear box was around the $400 mark  on a BT50 in Toowoomba.

Thanks for the feedback guys, ' sealed for life' probably means the life of the warranty, lol, daughters territory has done 330,000klms & trans has never been serviced, has towed 20ft. ski boat a lot in its life, car reliability is like russian roulette these days! John.

Hi
Sealed for life is Pure marketing BBBBBBullsh.t = low cost service ha ha ha LOL absolute lies
If used outside of normal eg towing and or short driving ,, service must be done more often .
Ring the oil companies ,,oil does not last over 100 deg cel ,,most modern transmissions will go over this regularly

The transmission must be flushed MOST DONOT have the flushing machine to change transmission convertor oil .
Anyone can change oil pan with filter .
