My Golfing Days are now ""OUT of BOUNDS""

The Australian governing golf body ""Golf Australia"" has instructed all golf courses around the country to close their operation immediately,  due to the chance that gathering of more than 2 would be impossible to police.

I guess that I will have to rely on Utube for my future golfing interests.

Golf is a past time that many retirees enjoy.

Q. I wonder what will happen now to ensure that the courses do not become overgrown and the greens are maintained.??????

I will miss my Tuesday and Thursday Golfing days.

Not so HAPPY DAYS  ahead.

Never understood that game...
I did try it years ago,

For whats supposed to be a relaxing sport l found it incredibly stressful trying to get that #%&= stoopid little ball into that tiny, tiny hole,

Took up fishing instead.

Bad luck, JayDee.
I have just completed 18 holes at the Sandgate course. Golf was crap (worse than usual) but the walk was most enjoyable.
We are teeing off in twos and only one allowed per buggy (For the non-walkers).
Cheers,
Roy.

The governing body Golf Australia does not have the authority to close golf courses, it can only make recommendations.

It did so last night resulting in some golf courses closing and others remaining open under the current restrictions.

It the State Govts adapt the recommendations then it will be forced closure for all courses Australia wide.

I think there is a good possibility this will happen.

While not a golfer, I will admit that I said to the other half, that we should take it up as it is the perfect social distancing sport , in that the likely hood of even a foursome being unable to stay outside 1.5M from each other is extremely unlikely.

Yes, so you do not congregate at the clubrooms before or after the game, it can, admittedly IMHO be played in this age of plague.

Our local course here in Heathcote, Central Vic, has road closed signs on the entry road today, but on Saturday there must have been 30 cars in the carpark and not a soul out on the course. So where were they all, one guess. At the bar.

So now they are closed, maybe.

Another confusing rule and interpretations are very different depending each individual state...The NSW Premier last night vehemently declared that NSW Golf Courses could remain open and play could continue, provided ofcourse, that the social separation laws were strictly adhered too, the only added rule is, only TWO (2) persons play in each group, NOT (4) as previously the case!

They have come to their senses, golf is back ON.

Read the fine print though.

It has come to my attention that our club is still open and time sheets are available. But like every where it is social  distancing, and 2 per group, but one person per motorised cart.

I have decided to give golf a miss for a few weeks and will then make a decision if to play then.

Up the Chinaman and his virus.  bast23ds

Yes, in Vic, no golf, no fishing. BUT you can race horses, trotters and dogs all over the state.

I guess you need to get some gambling income going to the Vic govt from golf and fishing.

Then it would be OK.

I think that in Vic the first thing to reopen (and probably as soon as possible) will be Crown Casino, followed by the AFL then pubs and clubs.

Have to get that gambling income going again ASAP.

I note, via the news media you understand, a brothel in Geelong had so many clients yesterday it caused a traffic jam in adjoining streets! Mind you, in my opinion, they would have been breaching social distancing requirements....

Are you suggesting that they were all "golfers"?
