Hi. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to employ someone to negotiate the purchase of a recreational vehicle on behalf of a buyer? I am keen to purchase a motorhome, and have a general idea of what I want, but lack the technical knowledge to feel confident in purchasing it on my own. I once employed a real estate advocate who negotiated the sale of my property and it was a seamless process. Does anyone know of such a business? Thanks Lois Kay

Lois,
I have not heard of any business who performs that service. Firstly you need to determine what sort of RV you need as in ....are you travelling solo, campervan or motorhome, budget, free camping or CV parks, facilities required such as shower/toilet etc.,.
A friend with some knowledge would be helpful and buying from a licensed dealer in your circumstance would be recommended.
Likewise I don't know of such a broker. We are on our 4th motor home. 2 in the USA and 2 in Australia. In the USA it was the benchmark to get a 25% discount on new retail/list price. However here in Australia it's completely different. Dispite my experience and negotiating skill I have only been able to get no more than 1 or 2% off retail price. I've shopped around and found the same situation everywhere I have looked. However I put a great into service, honesty and quality/value for money. Be wary of stories of big discounts. Trade ins, cash etc can all muddie the waters.
You may get more help if you are more specific about what you are looking for.
Good luck.
