protecting a roof top solar??

Is there any type of "protection blanket" to protect panels during a hail storm?? (whilst on the road). I am guessing A) find a servo awning quickly.....B) make sure your insurance is up to date??.C) maybe find a bridge to drive under and quickly ?? wished you had portable panels as the storm approaches?? is there any product on the market for protecting panels

and the van roof??  .cheers Bilbo

If you have a typical aluminium clad caravan roof, the solar panels will protect it. They ware MUCH tougher. Tougher than the tow car roof too.
It will take quite large hail to break a solar panel.

Most solar panels should be proof against a 1 (2.54 cm) hail stone which has a terminal velocity of 50 mph (80 km/h)

 Thanks for that reassurance Peter! The whole roof of my van is covered by Solar panels (9x190 watt Trina mono) and I have often wondered how they'd go in a hail storm.I know that the terminal velocity of a 25mm hailstone is around 83km/hr,but hadn't even considered possible damage to the van roof,or the car! Cheers

Were this not so, every hail storm would cause millions of dollars of damage to household solar and commercial solar farms, but I have never heard about that happening?
We do hear about damaged cars and caravans though.

****atoos and galahs are far more likely to damage your roof top panels than a hail storm especially if you leave your van parked unattended.
