We are awaiting the arrival of our new Goldstar Liberty Tourer. We are making lists checking out caravanning forums to get the low down on what to pack. I have not found any suggestions so far for dinner ware and have found suggestions for Smart Space cookware. Was hoping that other Nomads may have some suggestions - dont want to spend a fortune but want to set up our fan , right from the start. Thanks

I have Malamine plates and bowls BUT have 'real' mugs and glasses. I have two aluminium Pots and one pan. I use a plastic 240v kettle or pot on gas stove for tea or coffee and camp toaster on gas stove when off grid. No 240v toaster.
Has worked for me now for 9 years, 6 full time GN.

Exactly the the same as Doug (Although our plates are Corelle) + electric toaster+ Stainless teapot. We don't carry a portable gas BBQ any more (too hard to clean), we use a pressed metal BBQ with heat beads or twigs.

We use s/steel pots and teflon pan (same as at home), Corelle plates, real mugs and acrylic wine glasses. We have a portable gas barbecue, but rarely use it because, like Possum3 writes, it is hard to clean.
We have an off-road van and have found that putting large clip-seal plastic bags partly filled with foam packing beads on the top of each drawer prevents breakages.

I have not paid that much attention, not sure about the plates, but we use normal household cups, while travelling
While cleaning up a bit, in the free/donation camp sites, I have come across very expensive fine china plates, (the type which is lightweight, and you can nearly see through), broken on the ground
I will assume that expensive breakable dinnerware, is probably not suited for travelling
When we set out we bought new Corelle crockery, then for much of our other gear we went to second hand shops and filled our requirements form there, if it does. ot do the job you can change it without losing a lot of $. Some things we have upgraded as time went along but there is no real requirement to buy everything new. We also had quite a few things in the cupboards at home that could be utilised.
